Emma with hat made by one of the awesome L&D nurses.

Emma
On Tuesday the 11th at my 39 week appointment we were told to head to the hospital as Emma wouldn't cooperate during the biophysical profile ultrasound. They repeated the ultrasound at the hospital and again she didn't cooperate. I was then admitted to the hospital for the night to see what Cervadil would do to my cervix as it hadn't changed at all since 38 weeks.Wednesday morning's cervical check didn't go as we were hoping even though I was contracting every 5 minutes...again no change. So the doctor decided to try another cervix ripening agent which caused contractions that I could feel. I still didn't make much change, so they then decided to try the balloon catheter for a few hours. I then was dilated to 6 to 7. The doctor proceeded to break my water. And then in a blink of an eye everything changed...the cord decided to come out with the fluid before Emma's head. I was immediately rushed to the OR for an emergency c-section. I freaked out a bit in the OR because I was so scared. Randy had to stay in our room to wait for the news and was extremely worried about both Emma and I. When I came to about two hours later, I was informed that her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck three times.
Emma is taking to breastfeeding really well and has already nursed 6 times today.
